Consider Your Cleansers
You may adore your oil cleanser, but spring’s the time to switch it out. (This doesn’t apply if you use your oil as a step before your basic cleanser.) “Oils become less tolerated when the weather heats up,” says Craig Kraffert, M.D., dermatologist and founder of Amarte. “You need less oil because there’s more humidity in the air.” Reach for something more lightweight instead, like Jurlique’s Herbal Recovery Antioxidant Cleansing Mousse ($34, jurlique.com). It foams into a silky lather to help whisk away impurities without being heavy.

Scrub It Down
Feeling flaky once the weather changes? That’s par for the course. “Dull, flaky, dry skin seems to be the main issue this time of year,” says Kristin Petrovich, president and cofounder of Själ Skincare. She and Kraffert suggest gentle exfoliation. “You need to ensure your exfoliant isn’t inflaming the skin,” says Kraffert. “Look for a formula that will keep things calm.” Immunocologie’s Exfoliating Lotion ($150, immunocologie.com) knocks off dead skin cells with lactic acid, which is gentle enough for your visage while still packing a serious punch.

Brighten It Up
The easiest way to liven up a dull complexion left behind by winter is to incorporate some brightening products into your regimen. “People are looking to make their skin fresher and brightener,” says Kraffert. Serums are a no-brainer way to introduce a heavy dose of an ingredient into your routine. Algenist’s Genius White Concentrated Brightening Essence ($115, ulta.com) slides on in a thin, lightweight layer, which makes it easy to combine with other products. Put one pump between your hands and pat into your face in place of your daytime serum.
